Microsoft Corp. is currently in talks about buy gaming chat giant Discord Inc., according to a report by Bloomberg that was released on Monday. And we can easily see why Microsoft would purchase such a popular forum even at a $10 billion price tag.

Discord is a very popular forum that allows its users to communicate with each other via voice, video and text. It has over 100 million monthly users. This is perfect for tech giant Microsoft that wishes to expand in the field of video games, henceforth adding a new and larger audience

Discord at this point in time is free but does have upgrades for people who are willing to pay, Discord as a whole relies on Googles Cloud Infrastructure.

Discords game DNA is a big selling pint for Microsoft and any other buyers from around the world, and with the arrival of big games like Among Us Discord was used as a chat and voice forum whilst users played the game, which increased the popularity of the forum.
